A Study on Correlation between Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Method and Coarse Aggregate for Estimating Residual Modulus of Elasticity of Concrete Exposed to High Temperatures

In this study, the mechanical properties of normal concrete (NC) and lightweight (LC) were measured upon exposure to high temperatures (20, 100, 200, 300, 500, 700 °C). Then, analysis was conducted predict residual modulus elasticity through ultrasonic pulse velocity. Crushed granite aggregate mixed as coarse for NC coal-ash LC. The effect water-to-binder (W/B) ratio (0.41, 0.33, 0.28) on (residual compressive strength, velocity, elasticity, stress–strain) determined. higher LC compared NC. correlation between velocity also analyzed, which yielded a coefficient (R2) at all levels. Finally, equations predicting using with R2 values 0.94 0.91 proposed LC, respectively.
